The Philosophical Foundation of the Fu Jen School

Abstract

Christian has been able to timeless philosophy in the world last century can still exist in dozens of popular ideas on the significant impact of human role; Study the reason, nothing more than an important feature of Christian philosophy is , which involves both a timeless essence, open to enable them to continue with the occurrence of other heterogeneous cultural traditions of dialogue and integration, to enrich each other's ideological content. In the West, Christian philosophy, after the integration of several processes, including the Godfather of philosophy and Greek philosophy during the integration period of Scholastic philosophy and the integration of Arab Muslim culture, and 13, after the fourteenth century and the integration of various cultures ... etc. and so on. In China, more theoretical, systematic introduction of Christian ideas and generate dialogue with the Chinese culture, integration, and comes as the Ming Dynasty Lima Po and other efforts of Jesuit priests. When the role of each occurrence of the integration will not only enrich the connotation of its own Christian philosophy, will give it the object of the ideology of integration of new content, can be said to complement each other. Fu Jen Catholic School and the establishment of production, that is, in this context, which lasted several hundred years of development and integration of systems theory over the past century, gradually bearing fruit. Christianity, as a philosophy, has been everlasting, popular, and influential to human thinking for centuries exactly because of one of its important features: some kind of eternal openness as part of its essence. Such a feature has constantly enabled Christianity to have dialogue and fusion with alien cultural traditions, which in turns has enriched both traditions. Christianity as a philosophy has undergone several fusions in Western history, including: the fusions with Greek philosophy during the period of the patristic philosophy, with Arabic Islamic culture during the period of the Scholastic philosophy, and with the cultures of different nations after the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries. In China, the more theoretical and systematic introduction of Christianity and its dialogue and fusion with Chinese culture were the achievements of Mateo Ricci and other Jesuits in the Ming Dynasty. Whenever there was fusion, it not only enriched Christianity itself but also brought something new to the philosophical system that it fuses with; then both cultures were improved. This is the background against which the Fu-jen School is generated and established.
