Abstract

This issue of Disputatio is dedicated to the memory of Manuel dos Santos Lourenço (1936 – 2009). M. S. Lourenço introduced analytic philosophy in Portugal and taught most of the present members of the editorial committee of Disputatio. It can safely be said that he was the first causal link in the creation of a national analytic philosophy community — without M. S. Lourenço, we probably would not have been here as members of a community of Portuguese analytic philosophers. He was also the first editor of Disputatio from 1996 to 2004. The editors thus pay him a deserved homage.
