Abstract

The research aims to explore the intercultural issues faced by diasporic women in ‘A pair of jeans’ and ‘the elopement’ written by Qaisra Shahraz. The main goal of this study is to show the readers that having a diasporic identity,what kind of issues women face. The study is qualitative in nature and cultural hybridity theory is applied to conduct the research. moreover, the hybridity of cultures refers to mixedness or impurity of cultures knowing that no culture is really pure. The essence of dressing, mindset of people, ethical values and lifestyle of people such issues are discussed by Qaisra Shahraz in her these two short stories.
