Abstract

This article belongs to the history of mentalities, and is an attempt to show one of its many varied manifestations. In this particular case, the topic is the "fiesta", wich is an interesting approach to the understanding of the way of life of a certain age, as well as being a clear demonstration of the interference which exists between pagan and religious elements. In fact it is often difficult to decide whether the "fiesta" is a pagan or a religieus celebration. In brief, it is an example of the union between Church and State within contemporary values
