Abstract

This article offers a critical edition of a text known as the Dit des moustiers or, to follow the text itself more closely, the Dit des monstiers, found in a fourteenth-century Paris manuscript. The presentation here is intended to make this text better known to scholars interested in the history of Paris in the fourteenth century. The article will discuss the manuscript and the text, provide an edition and translation of the poem, and offer a brief linguistic, textual, and historical commentary on the dit
