Abstract

La littérature chrétienne qui traite de l’éthique sexuelle et conjugale aux premiers siècles valorise la virginité, la continence et la chasteté, en contexte orthodoxe, dans les Églises et à domicile. Cet article présente cette éthique et s’interroge sur les raisons d’une telle valorisation. Christian literature concerning sexual and conjugal ethics in the first centuries has a high esteem for virginity, continence and chastity in an orthodox context, both in the Churches and at home. This article presents this ethics and asks for the reasons for this high esteem.
