Abstract

Mulla Sadra (1572-1640) is one of the greatest Muslim Iranian philosophers and the founding father of “Transcendent Philosophy”. The present work consists of five chapters, written on two categories: The Transcendent Philosophy and Mulla Sadra’s School, and comparative studies of Mulla Sadra’s philosophy and other philosophers. This book is one of the best books in English language on Mulla Sadra’s philosophy. It is useful for students in the field of Islamic studies and Islamic philosophy. Seyed Salman Safavi is a doctor of philosophy at London Academy of Iranian Studies. He is the author of numerous books and articles on Islamic philosophy, Sufism, comparative philosophy, Iranian issues. Dr Safavi is the editor in chief of the Transcendent Philosophy Journal. He is a distinguished scholar on Islamic and Iranian studies.
