Abstract

The article contains the result of the comparative analysis of henological and mystical texts. This paper considers «The One» category in its relationship with a mystical experience. The author raises the question of finding a strategy for more complete understanding of the meaning of «The One» category when working with mystical text. This work considers mystical text as a text that simultaneously contains both the revealed «truth» and the personal experience of the mystic. As a result of the research, the author comes to the conclusion that if mystics had personal experience of The One, then The One cannot but be that thing that they themselves were. To some extent, «The One» category in a mystical text is an attempt of rational organisation of subjective experiences. Accordingly, the mystical text contains elements of the autobiographical text, which in turn authorises the use of the biographical approach when working with mystical text.
