Abstract

The article discusses the history of the development of one of the little-known Odessa city spaces - the square of Jeanne Labourbe. The author identifies a number of periods of the functioning of this space. In the conclusions, the author states that the space is connected both with the imperial buildings of the beginning - the middle of the 19th century, and with the revolutionary traditions that developed due to the large number of workers living on Primorskaya Street. The reconstruction of the Jeanne Labourbe square, which would take into account the peculiarities of its history, could make the square attractive for representatives of both different layers of the urban population, and for tourists.
