Abstract

Over the last few years the European Union began to develop it’s foreign policy in the Arctic Region. This is due to the fact that the Arctic as a region has become very important for its mineral and biological resources, trade and tourism routes and, of course, for its global warming threat. With increasing global temperatures leading to less sea ice and more human activities in the Arctic, the EU’s foreign policy has been developed more quickly. However, there is some speculation between the Arctic states whether to give or not the leading possibilities for the European Union in this pressing questions. In the article reviewed and analyzed the Arctic vector of foreign policy of the European Union. The main focus is made by the author on identifying the implementation of the main priorities of foreign policy interests of this community in the Arctic region. Do an emphasis on the growing inflence of the EU in solving the problems of climate change, a resolution of territorial claims among countries, the development of new transport routes and protection of cultural heritage in the Arctic. Along with this, the main challenge is to answer on the important question, what kind of role is assigned to this integration union and on what principles are embodied in life goals and interests of the EU in the Arctic region.
