Abstract

The purpose of this article is to review the articulation of politics and culture through social sciences, in the framework of the crisis of reason, and over a period that includes from negative modernity to post-modernity. In order to do this the changes produced in the scientific conception of what is social, and in the context of particular historic conditions are both identified and ordered. Two elements intervene in this position: on the one hand, historicity, the idea that without a past, the present in inexplicable, and secondly, the affirmation of an internal relation between reality and consciousness.
