The Basic Issues in Political Ethics

Abstract

Simply put, political ethics, that is, human behavior in political activities or to treat each other in the road, or in the political sphere of the norms to be followed. Confucius once said: "For the government in Germany, such as North Star, ranking it, and the arch of stars." Ethics is a set of political discourse. Both east and west, since ancient times in fact, has a lot of discussion on political ethics, the great Greek Zheya Aristotle ethics and political science are classified as practical philosophy, ethics research purpose is the pursuit of their own personal good and happiness, the goal of political science city in pursuit of the common good and common good. And the status of political science as a discipline above all, because the goal of political science is the common good of human society as a whole or the common good, the purpose of the good is the highest level, and therefore political science and ethics are not partitioning relationship. This plan is organized as follows: First, will explain the meaning and scope of political ethics; followed by the account of political ethics and political and cultural relations; third will enumerate the major underlying ethical and political issues, including such as: democratic politics trickery and moral, bureaucratic system of moral responsibility, Proverbs and official management official clarification, ethics legislation, holding public office such as the distinction between public and private sector; final conclusion is summed up: the political ethics of research for the establishment of a sound democracy and democratic further deepening an integral part. Political ethics can be simply defined as the rules of mutual treatment among people in the political activities, or norms to be followed by people in the political arena. Confucius said, "He who exercises government by means of his virtue may be compared to the north polar star, which keeps its place and all the stars turn towards it. "This is a good example of exposition of political ethics. The ancient Greek philosopher, Aristotle, classified politics and ethics as practical philosophy, regarding both studies not only as a branch of human knowledge, but also as a practice to be realized in human life. These two subjects are interrelated to each other, because ethics pursues the highest good, ie, happiness of the individuals, while politics pursues the highest common good of the polis or the whole society. Both aim at the highest good, and happiness, but politics ranks the highest among all subjects. The paper consists of four parts. In the first place, we shall try to define what political ethics is and also its scope. Secondly , we shall try to expound the relationship between political ethics and political culture. Thirdly, we shall try to select some basic issues in the political ethics. Fourth, and in conclusion, we point out that the study and the education of political ethics is an inescapable element in building up a sound democracy
