On the Meaning of Li Ao's 'Fu Xing' Theory and Its Relation to Chu Xi's 'Xing Ben Shan' Theory

Abstract

"From" human nature is good "to" Sex Education "," basic theory is based on the Mencius, "human nature is good," said Yun-Yi Zhu Xi is different from the main "people are basically good," said above. This general awareness of the issue to shake, if only to discuss "Mencius" Zhu Xi's text and annotations, easily relegated to each side of the border. Therefore, the outside through the card to his rank and file, according to "human nature is good" to "Sex," but there is a clear course of development, is undoubtedly better able to convince others of the party. As Mr. Zhu Bokun said: "people are basically good to say, began in the Tang Dynasty Li Ao's" complex nature of the book "." If this saying is yes, then, Li Ao's "complex nature" that is "from" human nature is good "to "Sex," "conversion process at a major key. This intention is as follows: First, re-evaluate Li Ao "complex" of B Yun Ji Qi said the theoretical structure of meaning; Second, due to Li Ao affected by Buddhism, they re the "sex" and Buddhism in China's "Buddha nature" clearly be associated, therefore, "Sex Education" or "Buddha nature" discourse related; Third, to understand its "human nature is good", "love evil," the theoretical model and Zhu Xi's "Sex" in theory is somewhat related. If so, "from" human nature is good "to" Sex Education "," this issue can be caused when the evidence, and to the revaluation of Chinese philosophy in the development process on issues of human nature. My previous textual study "from 'Human Nature is Good' to 'Human Nature is Originally Good'" asserted that Mencius' "Human Nature is Good" theory has a different meaning from Chu Xi's Zhu Xi " Human Nature is Originally Good " theory. However, this uncommon conclusion needs more evidences than merely textual comparisons between the book of Mencius and Chu Xi's commentaries; otherwise each side of the dispute will stick to his own view. Now this research purposes a developmental study, to find somedefinite process from "Human Nature is Good" to "Human Nature is Originally Good". As Zhu Bo Qun Zhu Bokun said, "Human Nature is Originally Good" theory first occurred in Li Ao's Li Ao Fu Xing Book , thus being a crucial literature. This research has three aims. 1. to revalue Li Ao's "Fu Xing" theory; 2. to understand the connection between theoretical patterns of Li Ao and Chu Xi; 3. because of the enormous influence of Chinese Buddhism upon Li Ao, the "Xing" in his theory probably has deep relation to Buddhism . This research, if appropriate, can rein force my previous conclusion, and give a new consideration in study of human nature in Chinese philosophy
