Virtue Ethics and Teaching of Professional Ethics

Abstract

This paper mainly concerns the professional ethics education for the point, try to re-examine Aristotle's ethical point of view of modern professional ethics teaching. On the one hand because of the development of Taiwan society from an agricultural society to an industrial society to a modern society, the main emphasis on knowledge and expertise, professional ethics are more attention. The other hand, Taiwan's higher education system in response to technical and vocational courses designed to upgrade later, with more professional ethics courses be required to open space . In addition to the original investment professional teachers, most of the teacher who is majoring in philosophy. Whether a professional teacher or majoring in philosophy teachers, most of the textbooks and theories on the benefits and obligations of emphasis on discussion, which is the main principle-based ethical theories of Marxism, this article offers an alternative to has been relatively neglected traditional ethics of thinking, that is, parties in contemporary ethical theory, in addition to obligations concern the effective theory, the tradition Aristotle emphasized virtue ethics can also provide us with the ethical teaching of professional ethics reflection. Different from both Kantian principle-based ethics and utilitarian forms of consequentialism, virtue ethics became an important issue in the field of modem moral philosophy. The purpose of this study will explore the thoughts of Aristotle and examine the arguments concerning the teaching of professional ethics. This study will try to state how virtue ethics is applied on the modem teaching of professional ethics and moral education. Professional ethics as the systematic examination of the moral life is not only designed to illuminate what we ought to do by asking us to consider and reconsider our ordinary actions, judgments, and justifications. In the conclusion, I will note the virtue-oriented teaching of professional ethics has its own features, would offer a solid foundation for a flourishing life
