Abstract

Der Beitrag zeigt, dass Subjektivität, die humanspezifische Fähigkeit der Beantwortung krisenhafter Situationen, einerseits immer schon notwendig existiert hat, andererseits aber dem modernen Subjekt in zunehmendem Maße abverlangt wird. Diese Steigerung wird anhand dreier Subjektformationen differenziert. Diese Darlegung, die sich als klärende Folie für die Untersuchung belastender, Subjektivität infrage stellender Faktoren versteht, erfordert einerseits eine systematische Klärung des Begriffs der Subjektivität und andererseits eine Rekonstruktion der kulturhistorischen Entwicklungsgeschichte des Subjekts, um zeigen zu können, wie sich Subjektivität erst in der Moderne überhaupt zu einem identitätsrelevanten, anerkannten Zuwendungsgegenstand entwickelt hat, so dass „objektivierende“ wissenschaftliche und technische Entwicklungen es in Bedrängnis bringen.The article argues that subjectivity, the human faculty of responding to ambiguous, unclear situations, has on the one hand always existed but that on the other hand the modern subject is more and more relying on it. This increase is examined by a differentiation of the three main subject-formations . This explanation is intended as a preparing examination towards a discussion of modern causes which burden or question subjectivity. For this purpose it is necessary both to clarify the conception of subjectivity and to consider the phylo- and ontogenetical development of the subject. Thus it is possible to show how subjectivity became an increasingly important and recognized object of personal identity
