Abstract
The article accentuates key aim of remythologization and myth recreation. It’s forming of public opinion desired for the authorities, and manipulation of mass consciousness. As a part of scientists considers public opinion is one of the forms of mass consciousness. Usually its forming is spontaneous and purposeful. In the second case mass consciousness is being influenced by social institutes among which mass communication is one of the most effective. In a modern culture means of mass communication turned to the powerful instrument of consolidation of the society which includes countless methods of manipulating of public and mass consciousness. The author points to the following manipulating techniques methods among the most effective ones: special method of translation and immediate information, showing events from a certain point of view, twisting or change of the facts, mosaic like stories shown in the TV news. The author briefly introduces types of propaganda, the structure of agitational message and its meaning. The author presents classic construction of propagandist message used by the Russian mass media. During the analysis of the information shown in the Russian mass media the author distinguished the following types of myths: historical, geographic, national, political.
