Abstract

The paper focuses on two problems: The first of them is the concept of classless society. The author tries to show, that Rorty´s conception of classless society is crucial to his political philosophy: Rorty thinks that the best thing for the American left would be the academics´ return back to the class struggle. The second problematic issue is the assertion, that the inspiring value of New Testament as well as of the Communist Manifesto is not diminished by the fact that millions of people were enslaved, tortured, or starved do death by morally earnest people, who quoted passages from one or the other text in order to justify their deeds
