Abstract

A German language translation of the commentary of Hermeias on Plato's Phaedrus. Historians have often assumed that Hermeias' notes or scholia simply reflect in the content of lectures given by his teacher, Syrianus, on the dialogue. While the notes clearly have an origin in a teaching setting (as evidenced by reference to Hermeias' classmate, Proclus) B argues that these notes were subsequently revised by Hermeias and reflect some original contributions.
