Abstract

This article studies the aspects from which a “concept of evil” in Plato can be derived. Stress is given to the intellection of good, identified by the trinomial being-order-truth, in overcoming the human contingency by means of episteme, and to evil as non-being. The hypotheses is sustained that evil exists as a counter-argument to the Platonic ideal of an auto-sufficient life based on ethics and knowledge.Palabras llave: Plato; concept of evil; antithesis between tyché and techné
