Abstract

Pro-energy advocates have often cited fracking as a potential solution to our pressing need for energy because it can offer the United States a significant domestic energy source that can decrease American dependence on foreign oil and increase jobs. In addition, some proponents argue that the development of the industry is vital for economic growth in certain rural and poverty stricken areas.
