Abstract

The crisis of global capitalism has sparked increasing interest in theories such as Marxism, which offer an all-encompassing scope of analysis. In the following, I analyse Roswitha Scholz’s approach. Her Wertabspaltungstheorie represents a Marxist, intersectional line of thought that seems a promising, ground-breaking contribution. After showing the virtues of her theory, I will point out some of its deficiencies, which lie in an incomplete reflection on the foundations of her reasoning. I support this critical view by presenting other proposals which might lead the way to a new form of social critique.
