La metafora trascendentale

Abstract

Metaphors are as old as time, yet metaphor studies have recently undergone new and exciting developments. This article aims at questioning the logical and epistemological status of metaphors, adopting a critical approach toward classical metaphor theory and exposing a deeply rooted anti-metaphorical prejudice in the history of philosophy. The paper suggests a new way of conceiving of metaphors by drawing on cybernetic epistemology, which allows to widen the scope of the metaphorological discourse.
