Abstract

Many Byzantine texts are still provoking fierce debates over their dates of composition. The recent examples falling only into the 9th c. include the Bibliotheca of Photius, the Chronicle of George the Monk and the Life of the patriarch Nicephore by Nicetas the Deacon.
