Fragments from the memoirs. 1852–1863» in which he pays the homage to the founders of historical education and science at St. Volodymyr University professors V.Y. Shul’gin, P.V. Pavlov, A.I. Stavrovskiy, who conceived and developed the tradition of the School of Historians of St. Volodymyr University and who occupied the places of honor among the teachers and scientists of Ukraine in the middle and the second half of the XIX century. It is investigated how V. H. Avseenko in his memories expressively reconstructs the portraits of World History Department Professors V. Y. Shul’gin and A. I.
