Abstract

This thesis deals with Ernst Cassirer's work "Philosophie der Symbolischen Formen". The author analyses Cassirer's argumentation and examines how he understands the relationship between symbols and human thought. Cassirer argues that human thought is characterized by symbols, which are a kind of language. Symbols enable us to think about complex concepts and communicate about abstract ideas. Cassirer argues that language and symbols play a central role in understanding the world and human experience. Funke discusses Cassirer's ideas in the context of contemporary philosophy and points out that his work has important implications for today's research. The author emphasizes that the study of the relationship between language, symbols and human thought can provide important insights into the workings of the human mind. In summary, the work provides a detailed analysis of Cassirer's work and emphasizes the importance of his ideas for modern philosophy. The study of the role of language and symbols in human thought is still an important field of research today that expands our understanding of human cognition.
