Abstract

In this paper analyzed the fall of South Korean President Park Geun-hye. Her popularity was wiped out by a corruption scandal in October 2016. A swift and stunning fall of South Korea’s first female president has resulted from her relationship with a longtime friend Choi Soon-sil from a religious cult. Choi has been charged with using her influence over president of state to wrest almost $70 million from some of South Korea’s biggest companies. On December 9, 2016, the National Assembly voted overwhelmingly to impeach Park Geun-hye. She became the country’s first democratically elected leader to be ousted from office.
