Abstract

There is hardly a book on theology coming from the French school to-day without the concept ‘Mystery’ in the title or in the chapter headings. This has the advantage of underlining the ‘hidden’ quality of divine reality which requires God’s revelation of Himself to man, and man’s faith-response to God. The present book collects together a vast array of quotations from Scripture and the Fathers and St Thomas on the concepts of Wisdom and Mystery, and shows how they are key-concepts for the understanding of Christ and the Church.
