Abstract

In the present article, the author claims for the Immanuel Kant’s humanitarian-cosmopolitan research as a suitable system for the individual aims, with particular and universal worth’s, apparently so irreconcilable one to each other. In this kind of “global village” which our world is, the general dissemination of the human rights can not be hampered, even if that limit is carried forward by any ethical-culture relativism or strict observance sovereign. As a counterpoint to the romantic concept of “national community” – organic and hierarchically structured – that someone tries to recover from partial and excluding attitudes, we claim for the Enlightenment universal values, according to a civil society pattern, opened out and plural like that to prevails in the westerner world. This fact also establishes a suitable reason to evoke the modernity of Kant’s policy mind, in which the bases of a future cosmopolitan constitution that guarantees a peaceful, reasonable and democratic coexistence to mankind are settled.
