Abstract

William Frankena's analysis of the concept of morality is criticized because of its implications for understanding Christian morality. The author argues that this analysis leads to a fragmented view of Christian ethics which leaves outside the domain of morality both its central foundational feature (i.e. that it is a response to grace) and crucial normative elements of the Christian morality of love.
