Abstract

Entre Pascal et Kierkegaard, les affinités sont profondes, spécialement dans le rapport au christianisme. Si leurs œuvres ne sont pas comparables par leurs domaines et leurs méthodes, un même schème les réunit : la relation entre le manifeste et le caché. Pourtant cette dualité est comprise au moyen de deux concepts bien distincts. La pensée de Pascal s’accomplit dans le mystère et celle de Kierkegaard dans le paradoxe.Pascal and Kierkegaard share deep affinities, notably in their relationship to Christianism. Even though their works greatly differ both as to the fields they are interested in and as to the methods they resort to, they are connected by a common pattern–that of the relation between the manifest and the hidden. This duality is nevertheless addressed through concepts that are very distinct in each case: Pascal’s thought unfolds in mystery whereas Kierkegaard’s rests upon paradox
