NIH to End Chimp Breeding for Research

Abstract

The U.S. National Institutes of Health, the world's largest funder of chimpanzees used in biomedical research, announced last week that it was effectively phasing itself out of the business. Officially, it's a money-saving move, although animal advocates are taking credit for making it happen.
