Abstract

This entry addresses the recent flurry of citizens’ and activists’ initiatives to fight waste. It shows that they challenge the prevailing economic and technocratic approach to the problem by putting the question of waste and wastage in the context of social relationships, thereby reconnecting with the founding project of political ecology.
