Abstract

O presente artigo procura explorar algumas afirmaçães de Winnicott, relativas à função que pode ter o falso self em processos de criação artística na área das artes cênicas , usando, para tanto, dados biográficos da cantora Maria Callas. Desenvolve a hipótese de que, quando existe alguma forma de comunicação entre o falso self e a criatividade primária do self verdadeiro - ainda que num domínio restrito -, é possível haver criação artística, mesmo em casos em que o restante da personalidade permaneça dissociada e perdida, incapaz de existência própria.This article exploits some Winnicott's statements about the function of the false self in processes of artistic creation in scenic arts and, to achieve that purpose, it uses Maria Callas' biographical data. It develops the hypothesis that, when there is some form of communication between the false self and the primary creativity of the true self - even if it is restricted to some domain - artistic creation becomes possible, even when the rest of the personality stays lost, incapable of existing by itself
