Abstract
BEN BLUMSON is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the National University of Singapore. He received his PhD from the Australian National University and is interested in the philosophy of language, mind and art.DAVID DAVIES is Professor of Philosophy at McGill University. His areas of specialisation include aesthetics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of science and philosophy of language. He is the author of Aesthetics and Literature (2007) and Art as Performance (2004). He has published widely in journals such as Analysis, British Journal of Aesthetics and Philosophical Studies.MICHAEL NEWALL is Lecturer in History & Philosophy of Art at the University of Kent. He writes on a range of topics in aesthetics and art theory related to the visual arts, and has published work on depiction in the Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism and The Philosophical Quarterly.JAMES PORTER is Professor of Classics and Comparative Literature at the University of California, Irvine. His books explore the birth of tragedy, the role of aesthetics in Greek culture, and Greek and Roman classical traditions. He is the author of Nietzsche and the Philology of the Future (2000) and The Invention of Dionysus: An Essay on the Birth of Tragedy (2000), and editor of Constructions of the Classical Body (1999) and Classical Pasts: The Classical Traditions of Greece and Rome (2005).
