Abstract

This article analyzes the central concepts developed by French thinkers of the 20th century. G. Bachelard «Poetics of Fire», which includes concepts such as «complex of Prometheus» and «complex Empedocles». Meaning of fire contains the opposites as life and death, home and ashes. Fire creates flames and light as symbols of transcendence. If Prometheus – Father of Fire, which he stole from the gods and gave people complex of Prometheus is a symbol of constructive defiance – disobedience for the actions being implemented in some sense. Prometheus Path triggers flame triad fire – light – consciousness, important in the understanding of human destiny, as amended to curb the fire. In metaphysical plane Prometheus complex is transformed into a set of Empedocles, who coordinates the confidence of his life, philosophy and death, are on a spiritual level are closely intertwined, forming an organic unity. Empedocles Complex combines the Dionysian as irrational, romantic and Apollonian as rational and harmonious spirit, they are inseparable from one another. Advanced G. Bachelard «Psychoanalysis of Fire», according to its author, must implement the task of philosophy, which is a combination of poetry and science, individual ways of primordial contrary. Empedocles first ancient thinkers demonstrated ability to metaphysical rebellion. Wrestling with fate as a manifestation of heroic fatalism is possible with confidence as the rule of universal destiny. Ontological monism provides for Killings, expression of which is the fusion of the individual with the cosmic principle. The position of G. Bachelard, complex of Empedocles is cosmic death, which marks the death is not easy in solitude, and the transition to a different quality. Availability and development of people of both complexes – Prometheus and Empedocles – show human desire to upgrade that its characteristic feature is transcendent light.
