Love as the transformation of personality in the religious-philosophical views of Vladimir Solovyov

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of love in its impact on humans, according to religious-philosophical views of Vladimir Solovyov. The influence of love on human nature is studied. In this research we can find the answer to the question «What love make with people and what is the main purpose of love?». The article presents the research of interrelation between the existence of love and freedom from humans selfishness, the relation between loving heart and opportunities to discover the meaning of life. It was found that love rescues man from selfishness and thus from degradation. The main types of love which were discriminated by Vladimir Solovyov were discussed. A detailed analysis of the the love between man and woman has been carried out. It was concluded that the fullness of human existence is embodied in love. Love can change not only one person, but due to this society as a whole. Love, therefore, is able to bring humanity to the highest level. Special attention was paid to the fact that the man who filled with love is able to overcome his selfishness, he is able to unite with other people. Because of this love allows the person to feel the presence of the Kingdom of God already here on earth. It was discovered that love is a powerful force for the spiritual development of mankind. It can be concluded that the feeling that the person loves you and knowing that you love him, give meaning to your own existence. Thus love is an incredibly powerful force that encourages self-improvement, inspires the soul to do something significant. In philosophy of V. Solovyov meaning of love is a spiritual birth of person, the resurrection of his soul. According to religious views, each person embodies the image of God. According to the philosophy of V. Solovyov, this image specifically is learned in love. Vladimir Solovyov sees the person in the context of the formation of unity. For Solovyov God and humanity form a unity that is bound by threads of love. When the people know God through love they become closer to each other. Consequently love is a connection that satisfies a essential need in connection with the other person. In a couple of people becomes a harmonious whole. Exploring the works of V. Solovyov, we can say that for him love is truth. The concept of love, truth and unity are inseparably linked for him. God is the manifestation of this unity, God is love, God is revealed as universal love. It is essential that love Solovyov understands in the attribute definition of love-Agape. Agape is the highest form of love, unconditional acceptance of the other, love that is unwavering. The type of love that God loves his creation, must be inherited by man in his earthly love, the love of a woman or a man. This love is above all spiritual love, which represents the spiritual unity, spiritual merging between loving in one inseparable entity, merging in the spirit. The doctrine of Solovyov reveals the main meaning of love – a combination of two separate creatures for transformed self-actualization of the ideal personality. Such person can not be only male or only female but it forms their unity. Love leads people to the metaphysical merger, to the joining of two separate lives into one. Transformed personality, in the understanding of V. Solovyov, is able to influence world life, to defeat death and evil. As a result love contains extraordinary meaning. Thus, from the overall context of the metaphysics of love by V. Solovyov, the displayed position corresponding to the fundamental units of the Eastern Slavic religious and philosophical beliefs that love is truth and God is love.
