Man, Music and Cosmos: A Goethean Study of Music

(1992)

Abstract

This comprehensive and challenging book looks at the phenomena of music from a spiritual perspective based on the author's lifetime work with Rudolf Steiner's indications about music. She calls on us to transform hearing "from quantitative listening to qualitative listening" through which we will experience the "unity of man, music and the cosmos." This approach brings a renewal of musical experience to both the professional and the music lover and will be welcomed by all those seeking a deeper insight into the nature of music.
