The Communication between Contemporary Confucianism and Subjectivity

Abstract

This paper aims to explore contemporary Confucianism as a humanistic thinking, which are inherent in the philosophy of moral philosophy and cultural implications, to which exclude significant contemporary Confucianism can we pass into the inner of the "moral self" to establish the process, a true expression "subject awareness", and the final super-g traditional Confucian "saint" and "Outside" the significance of barrier between the well諸many practical obstacles. Therefore, this article are based on contemporary Taiwan Confucian scholar Feng Jiang year study as an example, as appropriate, given the degree to law and politics to philosophy, Confucianism try to carry out awareness among the I as "the principal law and politics," and thus open the expand "Confucianism sea" may be of. In the meantime, this one involving Confucianism outside the king to the degree of thinking, can they really and Taiwan's social and cultural actual traffic, and for "Taiwan Confucianism" of theory building and the future of the vision on how the meaning of resources, also naturally switch off the subject of this article. This article is to explore the implications of moral and cultural philosophies contained in contemporary Confucianism as a discipline of humanistic thinking. Such an exploration is to reveal whether contemporary Confucianism is able to, through its internal transformation, truthfully embodies the subjectivity in the constructive process of "moral self," finally overcoming the division between the "inward saint" and the "outward king" as well as conquering many obstacles in practice. Therefore, in this paper, we take Chiang Nien-feng, a contemporary Taiwan scholar, as an example to consider possibilities to evolve an individual's "legal and political subjectivity" in Confucian consciousness and in turns develop oceanic Confucianism through the dimension of Chiang's philosophy of law and political philosophy. Besides, this article is also concerned with whether such an Confucian "outward king "dimension can authentically communicate with the social culture of Taiwan and provide meaningful resources for the theoretical construction and perspective vision of" Taiwanese Confucianism. "
