Abstract

This essay analyzes the text of the talk that Zizek gave on the subject of "architecture" in April 2009 in New York City that he titled "Architectural Parallax: Spandrels and Other Phenomena of Class Struggle." In my essay I discusse the importance of Zizek's first entry into architecture discourse and give a detail analysis of the concepts that Zizek has used to advance his critical poition and his argument on the condition of contemporary architecture. I evlauate his critical analysis in a broader context of architectural discourse in contemporary culture
