Abstract

The study examines the nature of the modern dominant position of the United States in the international arena. Also, it develops scientific assumptions about the multidimensionality of the phenomenon of hegemony in international relations. The paper analyzes the complexity of the modern world order and the international system. Finally, the research paper demonstrates the complex and multidimensional nature of American hegemony, namely unprecedented and undeniable leading position of the actual hegemon in the following four areas: military, political, economic and social.
