Abstract

The article contains some recollections on Werner Callebaut highlighting his personal character and his role in the community of historians, philosophers and sociologists of the life sciences. Werner Callebaut was a real European philosopher. He was the Scientific Director of the Konrad Lorenz Institute for Evolution and Cognition Research and the President of the International Society for the History, Philosophy, and Social Studies of Biology.
