Abstract

The article deals with a present critical situation of philosophy in Slovakia, which reflects broader social and cultural context through views of some selected authors attempting to provide a picture of philosophy turning to its basic problems. It highlights practical aspect of philosophy as spiritual exercise, which could be resurrected even nowadays, for instance in a connection with spirituality. This kind of philosophy could gain attraction for new students as well.
