| Abstract | Best?candidate theories of identity have been accused of absurdity. In my response to Garrett, I argue that my four?dimensionalist reconstruction of best?candidate theories allows the appearance of absurdity to be explained, while Garrett's own defence of the position leaves the demand for such explanation unsatisfied. I also argue against the assumption that three?dimensionalists can give a satisfactory account of unity or change | |||||||||
