Abstract
As one of the fundamental moods in our life, hope has as basic meaning “longing positively towards future”. For a long time, hope has frequently been obscured by its relational objects that changed from age to age. The object used to be fate in Ancient Greek philosophy, God in the Middle Ages and the abstract, subjective “human being” in modern times. No matter what it is, hope without a relational object would be thought to be void and meaningless. This is the first obstacle to overcome the threats of despair with a rational analysis of hope. Hope cannot and should not be substituted by its “objects”. One necessary step towards such a clarification would be “To hope itself”. This should be the fundamental attitude of concerning hope.
