Abstract

This chapter examines the relation between capitalism and consensus in the context of relational aesthetics, presents a clinical treatment of relational aesthetics in light of populism, and discusses the relevant views of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. It argues that contemporary populism is the ultimate form of the expression of the people and that it is the dominant post-political form of globalised postmodernity inasmuch as it expresses in the most immediately binarised manner the ‘rest of the world’.
