Abstract

Editorial to the Special Issue "Critical Reflections on Philosophy, Education, and Prison Sociology". The Issue focuses on the intersection of philosophy with prisons, prisoners, and prison research, particularly in prison education and prison sociology. It takes in a broad range of topics, including the role of philosophy in prisons and prison research; the value of formal programmes of philosophical education in prisons; issues of trust, freedom, collaboration, and power in the prison classroom; and critical perspectives on the relationship between education and ideas of rehabilitation and re-integration.
