Abstract

The defence of a Christian philosophy, more particularly a Thomist philosophy, is the task assumed by Professor Vancourt in this thirteenth volume of the new Encyclopédie du Catholique au XXème Siècle. The competence of the author to meet this challenge is beyond question. His interests have ranged over the entire field of philosophy; he has written authoritatively on all phases of modern thought, especially on the philosophies of Maine du Biran, Husserl, Hartmann, Marx and Kierkegaard.
