Introduction for the New Translation and Explanation of "Verses Delineating the Eight Consciousnesses" by Xuan Zang
Abstract
This article is the author released a new translation of the "Ode to Xuanzang Bashi rules" and written the introduction. First introduced in the first part of the Buddhist "Consciousness Studies" and "knowledge" of the basic meaning. In the second part is further described in "Consciousness Studies" in India, the origins and subsequent history, and it is India's role in cultural transmission. The third part is the "Bashi rules Song" by Xuan Zang of the introduction and overall evaluation. Part IV depicts the history of "Bashi rules Song" of the authenticity of the dispute and make their own assessment of this controversy. Finally, the fifth part is the "Bashi rules Song" interpretation of the new translation of a description of several methods and teachings. This paper is a introduction to the New translation and interpretation to Verses Delineating the Eight Consciousnesses by Tripitaka Master Hsuan-Tsang, which is newly published by the author. The first part presents the basic meaning of Buddhistical school of "Consciousness-Only" and its concepts about "Consciousness". In second part is then further a descreption of the school "Consciousness-Only" in India's origin and its devolopments afterwards, as well as its role which acts in the cultural transmission between India and China. The third part is a general introduction and the appraisal to the autor of "Verses Delineating the Eight Consciousnesses": Tripitaka Master Hsuan-Tsang. The fourth part reappeares the disputes in the history about wether the "Verses Delineating the Eight Consciousnesses" really come from Hsuan-Tsang, and makes own appraisal to this disputes. The final fifth part then are explanations for several methods and principles of the "New translation and interpretation to Verses Delineating the Eight Consciousnesses"
