Abstract

The book is made up of thirty-four selections from the writings of sixteen persons either avowedly Hegelian or influenced by others who were. Pulitzer laureate William H. Goetzmann supplied a general introduction of sixteen pages, and special introductions of one or two pages to seven of the eight sub-headings under which the selections are grouped.
