Abstract

Open peer commentary on the article “Early Programming Education Based on Concept Building” by Jiří Vaníček.: The Scratch environment can be used to professionally design tasks for computer science education in schools. Working on tasks touching different facets of one and the same programming concept can help pupils to build up universal mental models. A problem is how to make this type of learning experience relevant for young people.
